True, but it seems like there is a much better selection to go with nowadays. From Vixen, Misty Knight, Lana, as you've shown, Bumblebee, Fatality Rocket, Niobe from Matrix, Storm as always. or the Female version of some of the male characters. I've seen enough Ms. Captain Americas and Such, Time for some Ms. Terrific's lol.
because I look nothing like lana kane which bothered me...then again there aren't really any dark skinned characters to dress as that don't suck entirely outside of storm and maybe a few other random anime characters and even they aren't as dark as I am
I can definitely see what you mean, a few to consider, vixen from dc-justice league, misty knight from marvel -daughters of the Dragon, Angel - Morrison's new X-Men, Cecilia Reyes -X-Men. I think the I lol'd at the darkness thing, they do tend to make black characters light all the time.
I think that's odd cause ya know we're different shades. Unless they're guys, they most of the guy characters are dark. I dunno if they're saying dark skin is masculine in and of itself? If so that's not good news for me lol
I wonder if it has more to do with darkness being masculine, or if they feel like light skinned women are less threatening/more accessible? Like the Beyonce/Alicia Keys theory, or do colorists just have a hard time with black characters.
Although now that I think about it. Batwing, Luke Cage, Mr. Terriffic, Black Panther, Cyborg, Steel. You may have a point. I think if cosplayers are nitpicking fleshtone, they may be doing too much though.
when you get a chance like our book on facebook, www.facebook.com/intensecomics there's actually someone you could cosplay in the book. but we need to get big first lol
I will certainly do that... yeah they don't generally have a problem making male characters dark but the women tend to be lighter for the most part. I agree and I wish that weren't the case. I guess I'll have to get to a point to where it doesn't matter so much to me I'll check out ur comic though after I send this Thank you for sharing this with me
